About Jill and Jeff
We’re the parents of two boys, Alex, 8, and Ned, 5. Alex was born premature and spent his first 13 months in the hospital. He was in an Early Intervention program until he was 3, and then attended a preschool for children with developmental delays. Sometime after his 4th birthday he was diagnosed with PDD-NOS, an autistic spectrum disorder. He is cheerful, sweet-natured, handsome, and mostly non-verbal.
Jeff is the author of “Alex: The Fathering of a Preemie” (Academy Chicago Press). You can also see the latest writings about his family at www.jeffslife.net. Jill published an essay in Brain,Child Magazine in 2005 called “Have a Nice Trip,” her response to Emily Perl Kingsley’s “Welcome to Holland.”
